Top Ten Tuesday – Destination Titles

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl with a new prompt each week. This week’s prompt is Destination Titles (titles with name of places in them. These places can be real or fiction!) (topic by Rachel @ Sunny Side).

For our Top Ten Tuesday – Destination Titles, we each picked 5 books with both fictional and real places. We’ve discussed book setting we want to visit previously, I wonder if any of these destinations will be added to our lists of settings we’d want to visit (I can guess some are a definite no). We really do still need to plan that RBF field trip. What are some of your favorite Destination Titles or book settings you want to visit?

Alyssa

For this week’s prompt, I select five books sitting on my TBR shelf. I’m a little surprised I had this many books with a destination in the title, but makes sense most would be nonfiction. I’ve been reading Midnight in Chernobyl very slowly over a few months and can definitely say I have no desire to visit.

The Glass Universe by Dava Sobel
The Secrets of Castle du Reve by Hannah Emery
Pirates of the Chesapeake Bay by Jamie L.H. Goodall
The House at Riverton by Kate Morton
Meagan

I also pulled from my TBR. This one was tough for me! I didn’t actually have any of these on my shelf (No, I will not be buying them…). This is a good mix of genre, I think. I’ll be honest, The Count of Monte Cristo intimidates me (because it’s so many pages), but I’ve heard just great things!

  1. Visiting a Christmas tree farm would be fun.

I hope you enjoy these when you have the chance to read them! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

  3. I started reading MIDNIGHT IN CHERNOBYL, but it’s so dense that I decided to read it at a later date when I was more up for that kind of read. I wouldn’t want to visit there either.

    Happy TTT!

    1. Chernobyl was fascinating and worth the read, but it took me 4 months to get through. I could only handle small chunks at a time.

  4. The Count of Monte Cristo is intimidating because of its size, but it’s hard to put it down. It’s one of the few classics I’ve read without it being required reading.
