Hello, we are Alyssa and Meagan, and we love posting book reviews, our reading goals, book hauls, and more. Mostly, this is just a hobby child of our parent hobby, reading.

I met Meagan eight years ago when I started a new job. She took one, stone cold RBF look at me and I thought we’d never be friends. | ||
In my defense both of us have not-so-pleasant resting faces. Now we are no longer co-workers and contrary to that first impression, we are good friends. | ||
Our text exchanges range from crafting, sewing, mental health, and venting. But mostly books. | ||
One day, I texted Alyssa that we should start a podcast for book reviews. | ||
Over our first book review lunch date a few months later, RBF: Rating Books with Friends was born. | ||
There may have also been a few “that’s what she said” jokes that day. | ||
Thanks to Meagan. Honestly, we crack ourselves up. | ||
We’re just two Type A gals who love planning, reading, a good pie chart, and turtles. | ||
We decided we had to include a turtle counter in our reviews for books containing turtle references. | ||
Yes, we had to! The 🐢 will indicate the turtle counter. | ||
Maybe one day we’ll even get around to that podcast. | ||

I’m a 40-something reader who lives for grumpy/sunshine, dual point of view, alternating timelines… I could go on and on. I like to read. A lot. I try to enjoy a wide variety of genres and moods, and average about 15 books a month. Lately contemporary romance has been my sweet spot. I exclusively read on my iPad with the Kindle, Nook, and Libby Apps.
I do enjoy other things, like hiking and camping with my husband and two teenage sons. Plus, I try to put the books down for random crafts, such as sewing, quilting, digital drawing, and watercolor pencils.

I’ve loved reading since I discovered The Baby-Sitter’s Club as a child. I’m a 30-something reader who enjoys many genres including contemporary romance, literary fiction, mysteries, thrillers, and memoirs – I’ll try any genre once! I love a good romance with fake dating, forced proximity, and dual point of view. I prefer physical books (shout out to my local library), but also read on my kindle, and enjoy non-fiction audiobooks read by the author.
My non-reading hobby is gathering new hobbies. I love learning new crafts, but really enjoy soap making, sewing, and card making. I also love cooking and of course, eating. I enjoy my quiet home with my husband and our three dogs.
