Alyssa’s reading goals.

As usual, I was extremely motivated in January to work on new goals, reading or otherwise. (I refuse to call them resolutions.) So, it is no surprise that I did well towards my 2024 reading goals and challenges. What is surprising is that I DNF two books. I have a hard time giving up, although I’m trying get better at not giving my time to books I don’t enjoy.

The focus for my January reading goals, was two fantasies and one true crime towards my category challenge, and a book published in 2012 for the ICYMI challenge.

  • Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros – Fantasy
  • Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson – Fantasy
  • The Art Thief by Michael Finkel – True Crime

There were some glorious parts in Tress of the Emerald Sea, but to be honest, this one took a long time to get through. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

Bandon Sanderson – Tress of the Emerald Sea

In February, I plan to read one more true crime, a book published in 2013, and two new selections from my list for the categories challenge.
