The reason this April Book Haul post exists is Alyssa’s fault. I bought a few books at Books-A-Million and she told me I should do a haul, but I needed more books for a legit one. Thank you, Alyssa! Buying and collecting books is a secondary hobby to reading for me. I love bookstores, especially my local used bookstore. They just happened to be having a buy 2 get 1 free sale and I couldn’t resist. I lost an hour on a Saturday afternoon, but all 9 books were under $45. Check out the cuteness of this store!
Books-A-Million Haul
- Funny Story by Emily Henry – I preordered this back in January and it has definitely been bumped to the top of my TBR! I’m so excited to read it with Alyssa.
- Flawless by Elsie Silver – I keep seeing this all over and love a good series. I’m unsure about the cowboys, but hoping it will surprise me.
- Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley – after reading The Guncle by the same author, I intend to read the rest of his books.
- The Midnight Library by Mary Haig – I’ve had a couple friends recommend this to me.
Used Bookstore Haul
- Don’t Believe It by Charlie Donlea – I read Twenty Years Later by this author. It was a fast-paced read and I’ll be keeping this one for when I’m in a reading slump.
- Funny Feelings by Tarah Dewitt – this was on my to read list.
- Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison – this was also on my to read list.
- Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales – I have never seen this one, but the title got me, IYKYK.
- Snowed In for Christmas by Jaqueline Snowe – I love the holiday season, and try to read themed books in the winter.
- The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell by Robert Dugoni – I have seen this everywhere and honestly have no idea what it’s about – I like going in with no information a lot.
- The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews – see above about the holiday books.
- The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides – Alyssa and the internet recommended this one to me!
- Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen – I have read this book (and I guess lost it) and remember loving it in my 20s. I have never re-read a book, so this will be my first. I got this for my sister for Christmas, so maybe we can read it together.
