Top Ten Flower Covers

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl with a new prompt each week. This week’s prompt is May Flowers. We decided to pick books with flower covers on our TBR lists. A good book cover is always appealing, even if they say don’t judge a book by its cover – who actually doesn’t judge?!

Book cover of Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren.
Alyssa

I definitely judge ugly book covers… but this is one of the prettier book covers I’ve seen in a while making it a perfect choice for the Top Ten Tuesday Flower Covers. I’m excited for The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren to magically appear in my kindle app next week considering I preordered it months ago.

Book cover art of Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston.
Meagan

Oh that is pretty! I want to read that one, too.

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston is a classic that was recommended by a friend. I need to prioritize reading this one for my challenge. The cover is so pretty. It includes my favorite color (red), too!

May flowers on book cover art for Hello Stranger by Katherine Center.
Alyssa

Meagan, I just want to make sure you notice this one not only has flowers but a dog too. You’re welcome.

If this post was about books we’ve already read it would include Things You Save in a Fire. My favorite Katherine Center book so far and a gorgeous cover. But this is a TBR list instead. I purchased Hello Stranger earlier in the year and it looks great.

Book cover of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna.
Meagan

THAT. IS. ADORABLE. This is one I’d read solely based on the cover.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna has the cutest cover and I’ve seen it recommended so many times. Alyssa, you’ve read this one, right?

Book cover for The Familiars by Stacey Halls.
Alyssa

I have not read that one, but I always confuse it with The Secret Service of Tea and Treason by India Holton which I listed in our Top Ten Rainy-Day Reads!

Speaking of witches, I’ve had The Familiars in my Libby TBR for over a year, but I just realized the cover has an endorsement by an author I read for the first time this year. Since I gave The Miniaturist 5 stars, I’m pretty excited to check this one out.

Book cover for The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen.
Meagan

Do skull flowers count? The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen is one I bought at a local bookstore and the cover is totally what drew me in.

Book cover for The Ten Thousand Doors of January, but Alix E. Harrow.
Alyssa

Skull flowers absolutely count. In fact, I might have to borrow that one from you, Meagan. I love the flowers on the cover of Alix E. Harrow’s The Ten Thousand Doors of January. I bought this long before trying to read The Once and Future Witches, which was a big DNF for me. I’m hoping this one is a better fit.

Flower covers including Funny Feelings by Tarah DeWitt.
Meagan

That is one book club read that I skipped and everyone loved it! However, I did finish The Once and Future Witches and I have one word: pearl (it was so overused I couldn’t unsee it).

Funny Feelings by Tarah DeWitt is one I recently picked up and included in my April haul post. It was already on my TBR so I was excited to spot it at my local used bookstore. It’s a cute cover and I love the title.

Flower covers including World of Wonders by Nezhukumatathil.
Alyssa

The cover of World of Wonders by Aimee Nezhukumatathil is the reason I bought it back in 2020 when it was published. Unfortunately it’s been gathering virtual dust in my Nook app ever since. I need to make this one a priority.

Flower covers including By Any Other Name by Jodi Picoult.
Meagan

Virtual dust got me LOL.

Jodi Picoult’s upcoming release By Any Other Name has a stunning cover with florals. The first and only book I’ve read written by her (and Jennifer Finney Boylan) is Mad Honey, which also has flowers on the cover. I enjoyed this book and love her writing. I’m excited to read more of her books.

Alyssa

LOL, I almost put Mad Honey on this list.

    1. Thanks! I’m definitely adding it to my list, too.

  4. I loved The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches – I can’t wait for the next one by Sangu Mandanna. World of Wonders was also excellent!

  5. Nice covers! I haven’t read any of them, although I do enjoy Picoult’s books. In fact, I just bought a ticket to an author talk/signing for this book that’s happening in September. Can’t wait!
