Surprisingly, I haven’t had a book haul since May. Not that I need an excuse, but August is my birthday month and all I wanted was the freedom to buy whatever books I desired – it was the best gift. I did most of my book shopping on my birthday, but we also had a road trip in August, so I used that as an excuse to buy two.
I am going to do my best to not buy any more books this year, I really need to read through my physical TBR.
The books I got from my local used book store (my favorite place to buy books):
- Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See. This was recommended to me by someone at the store – I’m excited to try this new to me author.
- The Pact by Jodi Picoult
- Everyone in This Room Will Someday be Dead by Emily Austin
- The Guest by Emma Cline
- I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
Target/BAM! books:
- Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
- The Game Changer by Lana Ferguson
- Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica. This might by a DNF for me, because of “skin stuff”, but we’ll see. My friend warned me and I totally forgot before buying this.
- For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing
- American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins
- The Light Always Breaks by Angela Jackson-Brown
- Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborne
- That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming. I already read this and it’s hilariously adorable and fun.
Which books should I read first? Also, do we really think I can make it the rest of the year without buying books?
