Unfortunately, I didn’t read as much as I had hoped in Q1 (Jan-March), but I am on track to reach my 52 book goal for the year. My other reading goals were also kind of completely ignored (oops), but somehow I still managed to make progress on some of them!

January was one big reading slump for me, and I even had a book I DNF – thank you Alyssa for letting me know it was OK to quit. I did read a lot of really great books this quarter, including 3 memoirs (which I don’t rate). I’m also hoping to read more books and more variety next quarter. This website has really been a catalyst for my always be reading something goal. I’ve been consistent with my reading all of March, so I’m optimistic I’ll make better progress toward my reading goals in the coming months.

Goals

Written before the 2000s

Next quarter, I plan to read Sula by Toni Morrison to achieve another book for this goal. I need to work on identifying a few more for this goal.

Genre Variety

I read 50% romance which is pretty typical for me, but I did manage to have good variety with the rest of my reads! Does it count that one of my romance reads was a paranormal romance? That is not a sub-genre I typically read, so I think it counts.

Favorite Book

Honorable mention goes to Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree.

…I am extremely picky about people. Most of them, I don’t particularly like. I have very high standards for the ones I let in my life these days. And you, Will Baxter, are my favorite of them all.
