Alyssa's reading goals.

My book choices in February were less lighthearted than usual, but I still got in plenty of romance for Valentine’s Day. Bouncing between a true crime based on events in 1860, some meet-cute short reads, and a celebrity’s take on nature definitely meets my 2024 reading goals for more variety.

For my category challenge, I read one book for a genre I typically avoid, one book with a number in the title, and a true crime (Finishing off that category, Yay!). For the ICYMI challenge, I read a book published in 2013.

Category Challenge
  • The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher by Kate Summerscale – True Crime
  • Five Winters by Kitty Johnson – Number in the Title
  • Where the Deer and the Antelope Play by Nick Offerman – Genre I Typically Avoid

Side note – I selected Offerman’s book as it was listed in Humor, but it had significantly more nature (Yay) and less humor (Boo).

Curtis Sittenfeld – Romantic Comedy

In March, I plan to read another genre I typically avoid and a book with a number in the title to check those off my category challenge. I also need to read a book published in 2014. In order to really stay on track, I’ll need two more books, one for each challenge.
