My birthday falls close to the end of the year and for at least ten years I’ve spent my birthday gifts (read: cash) on a birthday book haul. Years past I’ve gotten books from the previous year that I missed. I love the NPR and NY Times best books of the year for this, as I find books I wouldn’t have otherwise noticed.
This year I changed it up and only purchased books releasing next year that I’m excited about. As usual, these are all ebooks. So they will magically appear on the day of release. Yes, I have them all marked in my calendar. One of my goals in 2025 is to do a review of every book in my birthday book haul.
Now I just need to find more money to get all the books I missed from 2024.
