Out of 159 books read in 2024, I rated 24 of them with 5 stars (not counting rereads from previous years) and the below are my absolute favorites of the year. I had a few common themes apparently. Several of these authors have new books coming out in 2025 that I’ve already pre-ordered in my birthday book haul.

159?! I need some motivational speeches when I’m in a slump. I read 53 books this year and I did this bracket in one sitting which was so fun – it was nice to look back on the year. It also made my slumps obvious.
I also loved seeing Alyssa’s bracket and I am not surprised that we have some in common.
I’m stingy with 5 stars, but a few of these got 5 stars from me. I wrote review for A Man Called Ove and Bride – both were 5 stars for me. The others are close 5 stars for me and I am surprised with how much This Summer Will Be Different really stood out to me! This was a good year of reading both new and some of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to do this again in 2025! Cheers to the New Year.
